Camp Tiger Camper Information for Parents

February 26th, 2010 · Comments Off

We’re very excited to already be receiving Camp Tiger 2010 applications!  Remember that they are due April 17, 2010!  Also, in addition to sending an acceptance letter to the accepter campers’ parents, we will be calling parents the week/weekend before the camp to get extra information about the campers and any emergency information.  We hope that this will help parents (especially those of first time campers) feel at ease with letting their children participate.  We’ll also be more than willing to answer any questions you may have at that time (you can also email Stephanie Mead at smead@lsuhsc.edu with any questions you have before you turn the application in!).  Along with the acceptance letter, we will also send parents a detailed itinerary of the camp, so that they know what their child will be doing at all times during the week AND what we will be having to eat.  We will send home daily reminders with the campers during the camp to help parents remember what is coming up.  We hope that this extra information will be beneficial to the parents of all our future campers!

Chili Cook-Off Donates 5K

January 19th, 2010 · Comments Off

Thanks to the hard work of the group that call themselves the Camp Tiger Benefit Group, the 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off was a huge success! Members Terry Heffern, Bob Moushon, Paula Pendleton, Joe Jones, and Tracie Amos, with the help of LSUHSC Professor Dr. David DeSha, planned and coordinated a Chili Cook-Off at Fud’s Restuarant on October 24, 2009. Combining the cook-off entrance fees, plate sales, and raffle tickets, the group was able to raise $5,000 for Camp Tiger 2010. They presented a check to the Camp Tiger Planning Committee, topping last year’s donation of $3,800.Thank you to everyone who participated in the Chili Cook-Off. Your support is greatly appreciated!Camp Tiger Chili Cook-Off Check Presentation
